The special badge for members of bomb disposal units. At the end of 1940 it was decided to introduce a special badge for wear by personnel of bomb disposal units in order to indicate the dangerous nature of the work in wich these men were employed. ACI 1562 dated 21 december 1940 introduced a cloth badge showing a representation of a bomb embroidered in gold-yellow threads with royal blue detailing on a bright red background, the whole being 3" deep by 2" wide
